Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 4 has been delayed. The announcement was made in a press release on their Japanese website. Originally a winter 2007 release date was anticipated, however it has now been pushed to second quarter 2008. The reason?

“KONAMI has decided to delay the title’s release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.”

That’s fine by me. Gives me time to save money.

The whole press release is here.

I have an idea. Don’t mention that you are releasing a game if it isn’t finished. Completely Finished.

Maybe The Metal Gear People realized that staying exclusively with Sony wasn’t such a great idea and they have pushed it back in hopes of the system dropping in price so more people will have an opportunity to buy the game. Maybe thats what this is all about.
