Xbox LIVE Block Party – Buy 3 Games, Get 400 Microsoft Points Back

Microsoft is running a promotion for their upcoming “Xbox LIVE Block Party” event where you get 400 points back if you buy the XBLA games Toy Soldiers, Scrap Metal, and the Perfect Dark remake. As an added bonus from Noon ET Friday, March 26 to noon ET Monday, March 29 all those games will be playable online for Xbox LIVE silver members for free.

I’m not exactly sure why it’s a block party, but the Perfect Dark remake looks pretty cool.

March 3rd: Toy Soldiers -1200 points
March 10: Scrap Metal – 1200 points
March 17: Perfect Dark – 800 points
March 24: Game Room – Free to download. Individual games will cost 240 to 400 points

Xbox LIVE Deal Of The Week: Rock Band No Doubt

Xbox LIVE Gold Members can pick up Rock Band No Doubt “The Singles 1992–2003” Album for only 1200 points this week.

Also this week, new on XBLA…Qix ++ for 800 points. What the hell is Qix ++? A sequel to the 1981 arcade game Qix, which, as the box says, is pronounced “kicks”.

The objective of Qix is to fence off, or “claim”, a supermajority of the playfield. At the start of each level, the playing field is a large, empty rectangle, containing the Qix — a sticklike entity that performs graceful, but unpredictable motions within the confines of the rectangle.

Microsoft Offers $50 Rebate for 360 Elite

Microsoft is currently running a pretty good deal, if you buy an Xbox 360 Elite between now and October 5 you can get $50 back through a mail-in rebate. This puts the Xbox 360 at $250 (until October 5), which is pretty awesome. Unfortunately it’s through a mail-in rebate, which always seem to take forever to get back to you, but still worth it. The form is located here and must be mailed with proof of purchase before November 20.

Amazon’s Black Friday Gamer Deals

I’m not sure if these start at like 12:00 AM or what…no DS deals, either. Fallout 3 for $39.95 seems like a great deal, as well as Last Remnant for $39.95. They’ll apparently be more price cuts, as well. “While the peek is a pretty substantial list, I’m told that all said there will be more than 200 price cuts on gaming stuff this Friday.”
