Mega Man 10 Retro Commercial

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I love how Capcom takes the retro look even into their commercials. If I saw that when I was a kid I would have wanted the game. And more locks on the door to my room. And a nude poster on my door.

Squads of four will make their way through three playable missions in the lush jungle of E.D.N III collecting precious thermal energy from the bodies of the Akrid which inhabit the planet. Battlefield 1943 Review

Monday, July 13th, 2009

battlefield_1943_1

If you’ve never played any of the PC Battlefield games from DICE (Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment), here’s the basics: Battlefield 1943 is a World War II-based shooter where you try to take out your enemies while capturing bases (control points), and defending those captured points from falling back into the enemies hands. Players can use a variety of vehicles including planes and tanks. Capturing control points allows the team to reinforce themselves by enabling players and vehicles to spawn in the area. The goal is to hold as many control points as possible (the more, the better). If your team holds them long enough, they win the match.

Battlefield 1943 stays very close to the original Battlefield 1942 games and includes three levels from the Pacific campaign: Wake Island, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal. The graphics have been updated and the game now uses the Frostbite Engine (from Battlefield: Bad Company). The engine allows for some amazing environmental damage; tank shells blast through walls and villages sit in flames after an air raid. The effects are truly impressive, and add a new level of immersion to the experience.

Battlefield 1943 Available Now

Battlefield 1943 is a totally radical online FPS set during WWII’s Pacific campaign. You basically fight in various large battles during the war. Players can choose to fight on foot or in a number of different vehicles (planes, tanks, ships, etc). I used to play a lot of 1942…a lot. I might have to get it, just to remember how awesome the game was. The arcade game well set you back 1200 Microsoft Points / $14.99 on the PS3. The full press release is below…
