I’ve Had Three Video Game Dreams In My Life

  1. One of those skeletons from Zelda II killing me, violently. It really scared me. I guess this was around 1987 when the game was released but…that seems like too long ago. It’s possible that I’m old now, though.
  2. Diablo II, before it’s release, just after graduating from high school (2000). I was drunk, sleeping in my Volvo at Greg’s dad’s under-construction house. In the dream I imagined everything in the game (as I had not yet played it).
  3. Getting killed in Battlefield 1942. This was when I was keeping a dream journal in college (around 2002 maybe). Not sure why I was keeping a dream journal.
  4. All the games have a two in the title.

Nintendo 3DS: The Games

The 3DS already appears to have a ton of support behind it, and not just from Nintendo. Besides new titles such as Kid Icarus and remakes including Star Fox 64, a slew of third-party games are coming from companies including Atlus, Capcom, and EA. At this point I already want one, bad.

I also noticed Marvelous will be releasing a game called BOKUJYOUMONOGATARI 3D. I need to find out more about this game, because the name alone makes it the most awesome game, ever.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M, More Announced At Nintendo Summit

Nintendo announced a number of new release dates for upcoming releases, as well as pricing and release date for the DSi XL today at the Nintendo Summit in San Francisco.

  • The WiiWare remake of Cave Story will be released next month, March 22.
  • Metroid: Other M (Wii) will be released June 27.
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii) will be out May 23.
  • The DSi XL will retail for $189.99 and be out next month, March 28.
  • Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (Sin & Punishment 2, Wii) will be out June 7.
  • Picross 3D (DS) release date is May 3.
  • Dragon Quest IX (DS) will be out this summer (no specific date) and be published by Nintendo in North America.
  • Monster Hunter Tri (Wii) will be released April 20th. There is a bundle with the game and a classic controller for $59.99, which is a good deal considering the classic controller typically sells for $20 alone.

Lots of good stuff coming, sooner than expected, for the Wii and DS.
