Six Million DS Systems Sold in US in 2007

That’s for the U.S. alone, and maybe that does seem that huge, but apparently that’s one DS sold every five seconds. I love my DS, so I can totally understand the appeal. I would think the biggest selling point for the system are the games, the DS has so many titles that appeal to a broad audience.

“There’s no letup in sight,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.

Well done Nintendo…well done. The whole press release follows:

The World Ends With You

From the makers of Kingdom Hearts comes the latest Square Enix game, The World Ends With You, for the DS. The game is set in Shibuya, the “coolest district in Tokyo.” The main character’s name is Neku, who wakes up one morning to find a message on his phone saying he has seven days before he “ceases to exist”. Creepy. Then things get even more strange:

Only with the coolest fashions, friends and fighting skills can Neku restore hope to the city’s population and prevent being stricken from existence altogether!

I Finally Finished Etrian Odyssey

Yes, I actually completed a game…I even saw the credits. Etrian Odyssey was released on May 15, 2007 and I bought it the day it came out…so that’s roughly…6 months, 4 days. After watching the credits and getting a “Fin” I saw that there is some post-game stuff to do, so I haven’t nearly done everything, but that doesn’t matter to me. I met my goal of completing a game before Mass Effect came out.

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

I haven’t done one of these in like a month, so I decided to add a new update. I haven’t been spending a ton of time playing any games lately, but I’ve still manage to play a bunch of different titles. Some are old, some are brand new, and a select few are awesome and radical.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker Initial Impressions

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

I picked up Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS) yesterday and I’ve been able to play the game for a good two or three hours so far. I’ve never played a Dragon Quest Monsters game before, so it’s all new to me, even though I’ve seen all the monsters before in other Dragon Quest games. Anyway, here are my impressions, so far… (more…)

Wine and Video Games, a Perfect Match

Wine no Hajimekata DS Comes With Wine

Wine no Hajimekata DS is a Square Enix game about wine. I honestly can’t find out anymore information about the game. Does it tell you what wines go well with what meals? How to identify a good wine compared to a bad wine? I have no idea. Wikipedia has nothing, and IGN simply has this: (more…)
