Resident Evil 5’s first downloadable episode “Lost in Nightmares” is now available for both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. The DLC features Chris and Jill tracking down the location of Umbrella founder Ozwell E. Spencer’s mansion. Also, downloading “Lost in Nightmares” will unlock Excella Gionne and Barry Burton as playable characters in THE Mercenaries Reunion. Totally intense.
Capcom has released clips of two new costumes from Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries Reunion. Seems like a bad idea to be fighting zombies dressed up as naughty Red Riding Hood, but what do I know? Nothing, that’s what.
Chris (warrior) and Sheva (folklore) are the first two out of eight new characters revealed as playable in THE MERCINARIES REUNION. Each with their own unique weapon load-outs, these new characters provide additional challenges as the player aims to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time. Chain together your kills, extend your time and rack up points. Featuring the most extreme weapon selections, THE MERCINARIES REUNION mode provides hours of new strategy induced kill sprees.
Thrasher and I were playing co-op, and he somehow mistook me for a guy wielding a chainsaw and threw a grenade at my feet. Now, I don’t really understand how he managed to not know the difference between me and the chainsaw dude, for a number of reasons. Firstly, I didn’t have a giant chainsaw. Secondly, my character looked totally different:
Anyway, I was like “What the fuck, man, he’s right behind me.” I was willing to let it go, as an accident or a joke or something, whatever, this kind of stuff happens everyday. Thrasher, however, is strangely quiet, his character staring at me with cold, emotionless eyes…the eyes of a killer. As my character begins to stand up Thrasher, obviously confused and still thinking I was the chainsaw guy, threw another grenade at my feet. I’m like “Dude seriously, stop.” At this point my screen is flashing “Dying…Dying…Dying” so I’m like “Help me man, not cool.” Then I died. Only afterwards did we realize it was all this big huge misunderstanding. We laughed and laughed.
…Capcom’s headquarters in Osaka, Japan, today announced that the initial world-wide shipment of Resident Evil 5 surpassed more than 4 million units. This is the biggest launch for any of the Resident Evil games to date.
With RE5, this now brings the tally of Resident Evil games worldwide to over 40 million units since the series debuted in March of 1996! Additionally, the three “Resident Evil” Hollywood major motion pictures have achieved combined sales of over 300 million dollars, and the CG film, “Resident Evil: Degeneration,” has now shipped over 1.5 million copies.
The viral videos are just the beginning for Resident Evil fans as Capcom announces an exciting update to Resident Evil 5’s Kijuju site.
In anticipation of the launch of Resident Evil 5 on Friday, March 13, 2009, Capcom is continuing to pay tribute to Resident Evil fans with an exciting update to the Resident Evil 5 Kijuju site this week. The viral video campaign is just the tip of the iceberg as the new update will include a ton of new content that will help to prepare fans for the fear they will never forget in Resident Evil 5. Be afraid at www.residentevil.com/kijuju
Just received an email from Capcom, I assume regarding Resident Evil 5. All the email said was “It came from Kijuju” (a city on the west coast of South Africa, and the setting for Resident Evil 5) repeated about about a million times and a link to this that doesn’t show anything more.
This latest Resident Evil 5 trailer looks pretty cool. The game play seems somewhat similiar to Resident Evil 4, but with a lot more enemies on screen at the same time. Are people infected with the same Plaga parasite like in Resident Evil 4, as well?
