Every update that goes by I’m thinking “Where are the new characters?” I thought this Smash Bros. was going to have the most characters out of all the Smash Bros. games. I’m honestly getting scared that Captain Falcon isn’t going to be in Brawl, which would not be cool. And where is the Square character?
Today’s Brawl update featured the stage Norfair from the Metroid series. The stage is filled with lava which randomly rises, damaging anyone that touches it. It also looks like the lava can sweep in from the sides of the screen, as well as from the background. When the lava comes in from the background, the only safe place on the screen will be inside a small room with the classic Metroid-style doors on either side. (more…)
Today’s Smash Bros. update featured the move set for Lucas. Lucas move set is pretty similar to Ness. The moves are: PK Fire, PK Freeze, PK Thunder, and PSI Magnet. The post also shows his smash directional attacks.
I’m interested to see how Lucas will play. I was never good with Ness, but maybe I can do well with Lucas this time around. The whole thing with manually controlling the PK Thunder was annoying to me, it left you too vulnerable to attack.
Today’s Brawl update featured some old school items that will be making return appearances in the game. All of the items have been in previous Smash Bros. games, so nothing new is revealed. The update is geared more towards newcomers to the series. Regardless, it’s still interesting to see the items back again. (more…)
Today’s Brawl update comes in two parts. The first is the Fire Emblem theme song, which is pretty cool. It has the lyrics writen out and everything!
The next update is a video clip of Fox, Diddy Kong, and Rayquaza. You have to watch it yourself to really take it all in, but it’s really nicely done. I’m really looking forward to further videos like this.
This morning’s Smash Bros. Dojo update displayed Meta Knight’s final smash. He swirls around his cape, does some other crap, everything gets dark, and finally someone gets sliced by his sword. I think I’ve already seen this on video, anyway, so reading about it isn’t exactly exciting.
This mornings update to Smash Bros. Dojo is a new Ice Climbers stage, The Summit. At first it appears you are on glacial peak, but then the stage breaks off and drifts into the ocean. Oh and then a fish jumps out at you, a fish that you might have seen somewhere before, but I don’t recognize it. Anyway, pretty interesting looking stage, I guess.
Today Classic mode was revealed. You clear a stage and you get coins, so is it like a side scrolling level and you fight to the end, like in Melee? I think that’s all there was to it, really…
Anyway, clear the stage and you get coins, and coins are NOT used to buy things it says. I wonder what they are used for? What would you use coins for except to buy things? Still, looks interesting.
Smash Bros. DOJO’s latest update is a stage builder. How awesome is that? The options look pretty in-depth, so it will be interesting to see what people can come up with once they get their hands on it. You basically pick the initial stage, modify it, change the music, etc. These can also be sent to friends online, which is cool.
I was listening to IGN’s Wii-k In Review today, a podcast where the Wii editors talk about all things Nintendo. They were talking about Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and mentioned that they were waiting for “…the big Square character unveil…”. I never really thought about it, does this rumor have any truth? How awesome would it be if there was? The Awesome Radical scale might hit 11/10. (more…)
