I’ve been interested in Warhammer 40K for awhile now, but never really got into plain old Warhammer. I don’t know why, it just hadn’t done it for me…until now. This trailer really looks nice, I wonder what the actually game play graphics will be like. I honestly knew nothing about the game, so I did a little research.
Warhammer: Battle March is being published by Namco Bandai and developed by Black Hole Entertainment / Cinegi Productions. IGN described the game as follows:
Thrusting players into Games Workshop’s renowned fantasy world, players will be able to control six unique armies – the Empire, Chaos, Skaven, High Elves as well as the all-new Dark Elf and Orcs & Goblins forces – as they battle for supremacy in a world torn apart by constant warfare. The individual units of each army can be customized in great detail, allowing players to put their own mark on their fighting force and strike fear into their opponents with terrifying combinations of weaponry and armor. Players can also control Heroes and Champions for each army, high-powered units that gain new abilities as they tear through the opposition. On Xbox LIVE, up to four players can engage in massive multi-army clashes in head-to-head and team-based modes of play.
If that’s in game footage…it looks really nice
It doesn’t really explain what the game play is like, I read a few previews and it appears to be an RTS. There wasn’t a Wikipedia entry for the game, so I guess this title is pretty far under the radar. I never played Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, so I’m not really sure what to expect. I hope the control scheme works well on the Xbox 360, there is no way this will work on my PC. The release is still set as TBA 2008.
