The new Pokémon games, Scarlet & Violet, have been met with mixed reviews, with some fans being thrilled and others… well, they’re pretty disappointed. The game has the lowest score on Metacritic of any mainline Pokémon game at 77. The user score is much lower, at 2.8.
Pre-orders for the game were still high, with The Pokémon Company’s COO Takato Utsunomiya announcing that more than 440 million copies of Pokémon-related games have been sold in the lifetime of the series. It’s too bad that the game shipped in such a broken state, and fans are hoping that the next release in the series will be better.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet were released on Friday. Some reviewers noted a healthy amount of performance issues ahead of the launch. A 1.01 patch at launch should have resolved some issues, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
