Timi Studio and The Pokemon Company International have announced that Magikarp and Gyarados will feature in Pokemon Unite, starting from January 25, 2024. The reveal also established that Magikarp’s “Splash” attack will be crucial to its evolution process. In the first screenshots of Pokemon Unite, a new gauge connected to the Splash attack can be viewed beneath the health bar, while Flail is identified as an available move.
The release was accompanied by a video showcasing Magikarp navigating the game’s map, although no footage of Gyarados was presented. Players previously saw two other additions to Pokemon Unite in December 2023, with Meowscarada making its debut alongside Sprigatito and Floragato. Players can earn Meowscarada for free until January 10, 2024, during the Flower Petal Challenge.
Moreover, on December 26, Beldum, Metang, and Metagross joined the roster, now purchasable from the in-game shop for 575 Aeos Gems. Pokemon Unite is accessible on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, with the much-anticipated debut of Magikarp and Gyarados slated for January 25, 2024.
