As the release of Persona 3 Reload nears, with less than a month to go, Atlus revealed the animated opening sequence for the remake of the renowned RPG Persona 3. The opening carries a new theme and is set for release on various platforms, including PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on February 2, 2024. The remake retains elements from the original series but introduces new aspects, including a brand-new song for the opening, titled “Full Moon Full Life!”.

In the 2-minute long sequence, characters from the game are showcased in vivid hues of blue, transitioning to black-and-green during the Shadow-infected Dark Hour scenes. The sequence also allows viewers to see the characters in their new S.E.E.S. battle uniforms, a novel costume design that’s unique to Persona 3 Reload. In the original series, the characters donned school uniforms during Dark Hour battles.

For comparison, other Persona 3 openings were also showcased, including the original PS2 release’s opening with its theme song, “Burn My Dread”. Furthermore, the opening for Persona 3 FES, a 2007 updated re-release, features a new song, “Brand New Days”, along with a montage of enhanced gameplay footage and animated clips from its playable “The Answer” expansion. Lastly, the 2010 PSP release of Persona 3 Portable incorporated a female protagonist route and elements of FES, with “Soul Phrase” as its theme song.
