Larian has launched Hotfix 16 for Baldur’s Gate 3, introducing an array of changes and bug fixes. The main feature of this hotfix grants players the ability to access quest items from anywhere, including from a party member, the camp chest, or a character left in the camp, eliminating the need for inventory management to advance quests. The hotfix also includes adjustments to story quests, specifically those relating to the character Karlach, along with alterations and fixes for a few boss fights.

The update also corrects a game issue that previously allowed a late-game boss to to ignore the turn-based mode. Adjustments have also been made to the game’s epilogue, including an amendment to a Shadowheart dialogue tree that only provided players with one choice. Most notably, Hotfix 16 remedies bugs that were resident in the former version of Baldur’s Gate 3, such as the game becoming unresponsive for players hoarding too many items at once.

The update also fixes an aesthetic issue where avatars appeared naked during the Dream Visitor’s first appearance. Furthermore, several save game issues have been addressed, though it remains unclear how much these fixes will improve the save game problem reported by Xbox players of Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is currently available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
