Atlus and Vanillaware are launching a playable demo of their upcoming game, Unicorn Overlord, available on the Nintendo eShop today. This is the studio’s first new game since 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, and unique to the Nintendo Switch version, users can carry over their save data into the full game upon its release. The game follows a young prince, Alain, who players guide to liberate five nations under empire rule, offering diverse unit classes and strategic gameplay.

In Unicorn Overlord, players are tasked to decide the sequence to liberate the continent, along the way meeting new characters to enlist in Alain’s cause. The game offers a range of unit classes, allowing players to form effective squads to overcome enemies and move along an overhead map to capture bases. A trailer for the Unicorn Overlord demo is now available for viewing on the Nintendo Switch.

The full Unicorn Overlord game is set for worldwide release on various platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 8, 2024. To ensure players have a smooth transition, the demo version on Nintendo Switch allows saved data to be transferred over to the full game upon its official release.
