Nintendo Direct announced the addition of five classic titles from former partner Rare to its Nintendo Switch Online service. The inclusion list features two games from NES include Snake, Rattle & Roll released in 1990, and the 1988 R.C. Pro-Am. For the SNES, 1993’s Battletoads in Battlemaniacs and 1995’s Killer Instinct are coming. Lastly, the fans can enjoy 1997’s Blast Corps on the N64 extension pack.
Blast Corps, a game of destruction using various vehicles presented in the scent of early N64, attracts most attention among the list. Players knock down buildings in a unique story featuring a runaway truck carrying nuclear devices. Besides, the list also includes a series of games with variable reputation like Snake, Rattle & Roll, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Killer Instinct and R.C. Pro-Am.
Despite the excitement about these classics, the lack of Rare Replay’s multi-platform availability is felt. However, it’s a significant addition to the Nintendo Switch Online service, aiming to expand its game base. This array of Rare titles will be accessible through the NSO channels immediately.
