Square Enix has recently announced that its celebrated game, NieR: Automata, has exceeded worldwide sales of 8 million units. The previous milestone was 7.5 million units sold in April 2023. Moreover, the remastered version of the original game, NieR Replicant, sold 1.5 million units as of November 2022. The popular game was launched for Nintendo Switch, receiving impressive reviews, and scoring a rare 10/10 score when it was first released in March 2017, while NieR Replicant received a 9/10 at launch.
The milestone comes as Nier: Automata marks its 7th anniversary on February 23rd. Sales have exceeded 8 million units globally, including both shipped and downloaded copies of the game. Square Enix expresses gratitude for the game’s continuous support from a loyal fanbase.
Square Enix thanked fans for their support on the official NieR PR account, pledging for their continued patronage. The announcement was sealed with an image, marking the renowned anniversary and the striking sales record.
