NIS America will be partnering with FuRyu to launch the recently announced action RPG, Reynatis, internationally. The game is set to release in Japan on consoles in July and will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe. Additionally, it will also be made available worldwide on PC via Steam in fall 2024.
Developed by FuRyu and Natsume-Atari, Reynatis features a storyline penned by Kazushige Nojima (notable for his work in multiple Final Fantasy games) and music composed by Yoko Shimomura (renowned for her work in Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV, and others). The game unfolds in a modern Shibuya, a setting blending fantasy and reality where magic is feared, and wizards conceal their identities under the watch of an organization called the MEA. There are six playable characters, including two main protagonists Marin Kirizumi, a freedom-loving magician, and Sari Nishijima, an MEA officer who stands for order.
The game world features an incredibly detailed recreation of modern Shibuya with familiar streets, shops, landmarks, and also includes an alternate fantasy realm known as Another. The gameplay revolves around balancing between a “Suppressed” mode which hides character powers and allows for civilian interaction and a “Liberated” mode which reveals powers, but attracts MEA officers. These modes impact the game’s combat, affecting characters’ offense and evasion capabilities.
