ConcernedApe, developer of Stardew Valley, has officially announced the release date for the long-awaited 1.6 update. The update is set to release on PC on March 19th, with console and mobile releases to follow as soon as possible. The developer, who has been teasing news of the update since September, made the announcement on Twitter, during the game’s 8th anniversary celebration.
Stardew Valley 1.6 will focus on improvements and changes throughout the game, including new festivals, late-game content covering all skill areas, and dialogue additions. Other enhancements include new items, crafting recipes, winter outfits for villagers, and a new farm type. This version aims to expand the game’s pre-existing features, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
The update follows four years after Stardew Valley’s last significant content update, version 1.5, which introduced features such as Ginger Island, the Beach Farm layout, and remixed Community Center bundles. Now, the 1.6 update is expected to be of similar size and complexity, potentially adding more than its predecessor. However, the exact release date for console and mobile versions is yet to be confirmed, with expectations being that it will follow the same timeline as previous updates.
