Criterion’s online store is offering a major sale on its Blu-ray and DVD collection until 12 p.m. EST on Feb. 28 with a significant 50% off entire stock. The sale benefits physical media enthusiasts and includes a range of DVD sets, Blu-ray remasters, and certain high-res 4K Blu-rays. The company’s half-off promotion is considered the biggest compared to quarterly sales by other retailers such as Barnes & Noble or Amazon.

The sale includes the popular 1963 film ‘High and Low’ by Akira Kurosawa as well as 1996’s ‘Trainspotting, featuring a young Ewan McGregor, which has recently been added to the Criterion Collection. Also available are various films by director Wes Anderson including ‘Rushmore’, ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’, and ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, each available for $19.97. For Godzilla fans, a special Blu-ray box set of all the Showa-Era Godzilla flicks and a hardcover art book is also included in the sale.

Music enthusiasts can also benefit from the availability of Martin Scorsese’s concert movie ‘The Last Waltz’, featuring a lineup of artists that played during The Band’s farewell show, including Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, and Neil Young. The Criterion Collection is offering hundreds of films with a special 50% off discount, enabling buyers to expand their movie collections considerably.
