Helldivers 2 is improving its ‘overly lethal’ fire that eliminates players hastily

Arrowhead Game Studios plans to address player complaints about the overly deadly fire mechanics in Helldivers 2. Fires, including sudden fire tornadoes and rogue embers, have the power to kill players with alarming speed – a fact which Arrowhead’s community manager, Twinbeard, admits is problematic. Fixes such as adjusting damage per second (DPS), damage over time (DOT), and the rate at which characters die from fire are being considered. Though no exact timeline for implementing these changes has been provided, they will be rolling releases, rather than a single patch.

Although fans are eager for the fire mechanics to be less devastating, Arrowhead has suggested that it will not nullify them completely in order to maintain a semblance of threat in the game. Possible solutions such as introducing a new fire-resistant armor type have been speculated, though Twinbeard has not confirmed the rollout of any new content in relation to fire management.

Despite the anticipated changes, fire isn’t the only issue Arrowhead is tackling: Helldivers 2 has encountered numerous bugs since its launch, including an incorrectly added passive for the new Ground Breaker armor and a faulty ship module upgrade. However, despite these challenges, the game continues to maintain substantial popularity among its players.
