Developer and publisher Atlus is set to hold a livestream showcasing its upcoming RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio. Set for April 22, 2024, at 3pm PT/6pm ET, the live stream will be available for viewing on the Atlus West YouTube channel and the game’s Steam page. The game, created by the team behind the recent Persona titles, was initially teased in 2016 under the code name “Project Re Fantasy.”
Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in the United Kingdom of Euchronia, amidst the turmoil following the king’s assassination. The ensuing chaos invokes something known as the Royal Magic, ultimately leading to a tournament for the throne. The game’s protagonist, partnered with a fairy called Galica, is on an arduous quest to break a curse on the presumed dead prince.
The game is scheduled for a fall 2024 release and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. With its intriguing premise and the experienced team behind it, Metaphor: ReFantazio promises an exciting new addition to the RPG genre.
