The Greek god gaming simulation, Hades 2, is expected to receive its first patch later this month, according to the developer, Supergiant. Two key changes have been announced, though the specifics are not yet known. The first change will address the usage of resource gathering tools, such as the pickaxe used for mining silver, and the second, and possibly more significant, will alter the function of the character Melinoë’s dash and sprint actions. Supergiant have commented that they aim for Melinoë to have a unique style and are working on ways to enhance her dash and sprint actions in a way that reflects this.

In the current gameplay, players have to keep the dash button pressed for Melinoë to sprint and release the button for her to stop. While these changes could potentially improve the gameplay, their concrete effects are uncertain due to the limited insights available into the developer’s exact plans. It’s unclear whether these alterations primarily concern control issues or if other factors are involved.

Apart from these changes, Supergiant is also expected to release other “enhancements and fixes”. Among these changes includes a modification to resource gathering. Currently, once a tool is selected, players are unable to change tools throughout the run. There are suggestions that this update might allow players the ability to swap or carry multiple tools during a run. However, similar to the changes in character actions, it’s currently unclear what these resource gathering updates will specifically be. The changes in the update aim to make the game less frustrating and allow players to focus more on their desired goals.
