Larian Studios, creators of the popular game Baldur’s Gate 3, have indicated that gamers who pre-ordered the deluxe edition for PS5 in North America will now face delays until July. The developers announced via their official Twitter account that manufacturing of the PS5 discs was held up due to production changes beyond their control, extending the approval process for specific regions. They also ran into further production issues that led to these delays.
Despite this setback, Larian Studios remains positive, and the studio expects all PS5 deluxe editions to be ready in North America within 14 days, and another 10 days to commence delivery to players. The studio also communicated possible discussions with manufacturers on the capacity to hire additional temporary staff, thus hastening assembly times. The studio was apologetic for the delay to players, emphasizing how important producing physical editions continues to be to them.
In a follow-up post, Larian Studios announced that they had already shipped the physical copies for Xbox, and PS5 copies in the EU and Oceania. Despite this hiccup with Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios continues its ambitious pursuits; it has two major games underway and has opened a new office for development.
