Riot Games raised the stakes with its latest League of Legends bundles as tribute to esports legend, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. Celebrating Faker’s induction into the company’s Hall of Legends, three bundle tiers have been released. The highest bundle, the Signature Immortalized Legend Collection, is priced at an astonishing $450 or 59,260 RP, offering exclusive content including a Faker-themed signature move and a Final Boss Faker title.
Faker, respected for his significant contributions to esports and renowned as the most successful League of Legends player to date, helped develop these premium bundles. The first is the Risen Legend Collection priced at $40, offering a variety of digital goods including a unique orange-and-white Ahri skin. The mid-tier offering, the Immortalized Legend Collection, costs $250 and includes all elements from the first tier plus exclusive skin transformations, finishers, the Immortalized Ahri skin amongst other things.
Despite the novelty, the reactions from the gaming community, specifically League of Legends fans, have been overwhelming negative due to the costly price tags. Critics have quickly expressed their disapproval on social media with many fans arguing the prices are far too steep for the content offered.
