Konami has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta at the Xbox Games Showcase, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, yet to have a confirmed release date. The trailer demonstrates that the game will be a faithful rendition of the original, employing the same intro with a new engine twist and showcasing Snake’s close-quarters combat abilities, among other gameplay functions. Notable classic elements like Naked Snake hanging off a bridge, sneaking around in an alligator cap, and hunting for food featured prominently in the trailer.
Initially introduced at the Xbox Partner Preview presentation in October 2023, Metal Gear Solid Delta is a refresh of the well-loved 2004 PS2 game Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. This remake stands on the robust foundation of Unreal Engine 5, with Konami ensuring a continuity of experience by retaining both the Japanese and English cast for the remake, highlighted by David Hayter’s performance as Naked Snake in the trailer.
The game is in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. For ardent fans and newcomers alike, the original version is accessible via the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, currently available across various platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
