Developer Mistold Games and publisher WhisperGames have announced a new strategy RPG titled Paraside: Duality Unbound. The game, set to release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam) in 2025, features a unique Duality Manipulation mechanic. Players are tasked with leading the remnants of humanity against cosmic horrors, using the mechanic to simultaneously navigate and manipulate two different realities on a double-sided battlefield. Beyond combat, the game offers open-field exploration in a post-apocalyptic Earth, requiring players to recapture territories, uncover secrets, and manage a base of operations.
The US and China-based studio Mistold Games is making its debut with this release. Indie publisher WhisperGames, known for the successful worldwide release of ASTLIBRA Revision and its follow-up DLC ASTLIBRA Revision Gaiden, will showcase the game at events including Bilibili World, Gamescom, PAX West, and Tokyo Game Show. The game promises an immersive experience with rich, detailed graphics set in surreal and mysterious worlds.
Paraside: Duality Unbound combines an apocalyptic setting and strategic RPG gameplay. The game introduces the Duality Manipulation mechanic in tactical missions, encouraging players to leverage the dual natures of the universe by allowing characters to act simultaneously in two realities, swapping positions of friends and foes. As players progress, the Duality Manipulation concept evolves, offering innovative ways to alter the environment and story.
