Larian Studios has provided an update on its forthcoming developments for the next Baldur’s Gate 3 update, Patch 7, which is set to be released in September. The patch promises the inclusion of official mod support in conjunction with a toolkit for players to create modifications to suit their gaming style. The toolkit promises to support alterations to gameplay elements such as new items, classes, subclasses, races and more. Moreover, Patch 7 boasts the inclusion of mod support and its toolkit, along with the option for a fluid and dynamic split-screen co-op feature, providing a unique gaming experience.
The update not only focuses on the technical side of gaming but also includes narrative additions. Tweaks and updates to companion stories, dialogue, and romance content are expected to come with Patch 7. Larian Studios further highlights the release of new cinematics, primarily reflecting the game’s ‘darker’ endings for origin and dark urge characters.
Even though the scale of this update implies a conclusion for Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios has reassured fans that this isn’t the last update for the game. Features such as cross-play and photo mode are expected in future updates. In the interim, the studio offers a glimpse into the features of Patch 7 through a closed beta that fans can register for on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Steam page before its official release in September.
