Bungie has announced that it will improve drop rates of Exotic class items and Brave Arsenal weapons in Destiny 2, starting from August. According to Bungie’s recent blog post, the updates will make it easier for players to obtain the items, changing the current system where Exotic class items drop only from chests at the Pale Heart of the Traveler. With the revamped system, each Onslaught chest opened will have an increased chance of dropping an Exotic class item until one is earned, with higher-difficulty activities augmenting the odds while degrading other random loot chests as class item sources to push more players into the Onslaught activity.
The updated system will also offer the chance to earn additional class items on each character each week through the Dual Destiny mission. This will provide another guaranteed roll if players are willing to replay the mission, creating better opportunities for those trying to stock up on such items to boost their armour builds. Although the specific traits of these class items are random, getting more of them opens up opportunities for unique combinations. Bungie is also considering offering Exotic class items from activities outside the Pale Heart, as requested by community members, though no concrete plans have been revealed yet.
Brave Arsenal weapons, reintroduced in the free Into the Light content, will also see an enhanced drop rate. Players will be able to amplify their chances of these weapons dropping from Onslaught by 60% under the new attunement system, accessible through Zavala in the Tower, up from the previous 50% increase. This update, allowing changes or deactivation of attunement without penalties or cool-down periods, should simplify the process of farming Brave weapons.
