Game Informer, the longest-running video games magazine in the United States, is closing after 33 years. The announcement mentioned the evolution of gaming from pixelated adventures to immersive virtual realms, stating that despite the end of the print run, the passion for gaming shared with their loyal readers would continue. The statement ended with gratitude for the readers’ part in their journey and well-wishes for future gaming adventures.

According to a report, staff was summoned into a meeting with GameStop’s vice president of human resources where they were informed about the immediate closure and pending lay-offs. Even staff currently on work trips were not spared from the news.

The final issue, number 367, of Game Informer will present Dragon Age: The Veilguard on its cover.
