Radical Fish Games, known for 2018’s CrossCode, has unveiled their latest game, Alabaster Dawn, a 2.5D pixel-art action RPG, which is expected to be released on Steam Early Access in 2025. Previously known as ‘Project Terra’, the game revolves around the protagonist Juno, who has the task of saving a world that has morphed into a wasteland. Although currently only confirmed for a PC release, Alabaster Dawn is designed with the potential to be adapted for consoles, thanks to an updated HTML5 codebase which should simplify future console ports.

Alabaster Dawn takes inspiration from the best elements of CrossCode, with a comprehensive combat system, intricate puzzles and a rich, secretive world intertwined with an engrossing narrative. The game centers around the aftermath of when Nyx’s shadow descends, transforming the world into desolation and eliminating the gods and their populace. Consequently, Juno the Outcast Chosen, arises to perform an improbable feat: restoring everything.

Game development for Alabaster Dawn began around the time Radical Fish Games launched the last CrossCode DLC, ‘A New Home’. It features WebGL to support 3D graphics along with TypeScript instead of JavaScript for the CrossCode codebase. Currently, while Alabaster Dawn is in its early stages content-wise, its feature development is relatively advanced. Gameplay includes combo trees, eight distinctive weapons, and a unique cooking system. The project is set to become an “Early Access” title, allowing for extended development time and to gather user feedback for game improvements.
