The turn-based RPG ‘Bloomtown: A Different Story’ is set to release on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, as announced by publishers Twin Sails Interactive and developers Different Sense Games and Lazy Bear Games. This JRPG offers a unique blend of turn-based combat, monster taming, and social RPG dynamics in a picturesque 1960s Americana world. The characters, Emily and her younger brother, Chester, are vacationing in their grandpa’s quaint town, where they uncover the unsettling disappearance of children and stumble upon a looming demon-filled world beneath the postcard-perfect town.

The game features two dimensions to explore. Bloomtown appears as an idyllic American town with all the local amenities, hiding a dark underworld where children are missing, and demon forces grow stronger. Upon embarking on a mission to save the townsfolk, Emily and her friends unravel that fears and vices have transmuted into monstrous entities in this otherworldly realm they must defeat to save their community’s souls.

Strategy plays a central role in Bloomtown’s turn-based tactical battles where Emily is supported by her friends and their unique abilities against giant demons and dungeon bosses. Players can summon, capture, and fuse demons into their squad, creating devastating combos for combat. Time is a major factor in the game; it continuously advances, allowing players to explore secret areas, enhance abilities, work part-time jobs, make friendships, and even enjoy gardening. Ultimately, the player chooses how to devote this time for a successful adventure.
