Bandai Namco has declared that it will be terminating service for the MMORPG game, Blue Protocol, in Japan by January 18, 2025. Following this, Amazon has issued a statement confirming the cancellation of the game’s worldwide release. Bandai Namco has resolved to discontinue the sale of the in-game currency, Rose Orbs, and will not be issuing refunds for any purchases of it. However, they will be distributing 5,000 Rose Orbs on the first day of each month starting from September 2024 until closure.
In an official statement, Bandai Namco expressed regret over ending the game’s service and cancelling the global version in collaboration with Amazon Games. Despite high expectations and preparations for the game, they realized providing the service to the satisfaction of all players would be challenging. As such, they extended their sincere apologies to fans and stakeholders for the disappointment.
Amazon, in response to this announcement, also voiced their disappointment over the abrupt decision to end Blue Protocol service. The company has expressed their appreciation for the collaboration with Bandai Namco and thanked fans for their continued support. They too have expressed respect and well wishes for Bandai Namco in their future endeavors. Before the shutdown announcement, continuous new content was being added to the game regularly.
