Sabotage Studio has announced Throes of the Watchmaker, a free DLC expansion for their popular game Sea of Stars. Set to be released in spring 2025, the expansion will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. This DLC brings a new adventure wherein protagonists Valere and Zale explore the enchanted miniature world of Horloge, under threat from a cursed carnival.
The expansion will also feature redesigned fighting styles for both the game’s protagonists. Zale will benefit from a revamped juggler fighting style, and Valera will take on an acrobat fighting style. Additionally, a new playable character, the mechanical sharpshooter Artificer, will be introduced. Furthermore, Throes of the Watchmaker will be playable in a three-player co-op mode, thanks to a separate local co-op update that introduces a new Co-op Timed Hits mechanic.
Sea of Stars debuted in August 2023, drawing inspiration from the classic RPGs of the 90s. It shares the same universe as Sabotage Studio’s debut game, The Messenger. The game follows two children of the Solstice, who utilise the powers of the sun and the moon to combat the evil alchemist, the Fleshmancer.
