The 2012 cult classic game ‘Lollipop Chainsaw’, a joint effort by filmmaker James Gunn and game designer Suda51, has been remastered and is now available on modern platforms as ‘Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP’. Known for its quirky blend of horror, humor, and unique storyline, the game managed to make a significant impact on the gaming community, selling over a million units and becoming the most commercially successful game by Grasshopper Manufacture.
‘Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP’ revolves around Juliet Starling, a cheerleader, and her boyfriend Nick Carlyle. Their seemingly normal life gets disrupted when they become victims of a zombie attack. The twist in the tale is Juliet’s family secret – they are seasoned zombie killers. After Nick gets bitten by a zombie, Juliet performs a ritual to prevent him from turning undead but this leaves him as a disembodied head—together, they set on a mission to free their school from zombies.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is not just a simple port to the modern platforms; it incorporates several improvements and new features. Significant enhancements to camera and attack speed, inclusion of an optional auto mode for Quick Time Events, and new cosmetic features in the protagonist’s room are some attractions of the remastered version.
