Nintendo is expanding its Nintendo Switch Online library with the introduction of four Super NES games from the early 1990s. The first to hit the library is “Battletoads Double Dragon”, a crossover beat-’em-up from renowned studio Rare that was released in 1993. The action game sees characters from the Double Dragon and Battletoads franchises teaming up to take on various enemies, offering a diverse mix of attacking combos to use in their fight against the likes of the Dark Queen and the Shadow Boss.
Also added is “Big Run”, a racing game by Jaleco that was originally available on the Super Famicom system in 1991. In it, players have to compete in nine stages spanning Africa, choosing a sponsor, hiring staff, and managing car parts for optimal performance. Another addition to the library is “Cosmo Gang the Puzzle”, an action-puzzle game by Namco, where the Cosmo Gang navigates through falling-block-style puzzles, featuring single-player, versus, and 100 Stage modes.
Completing the list is “Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō!”, a sports game by Technōs Japan that debuted on the Super Famicom in 1993. Part of the River City series, this game provides a spirited dodgeball experience with a variety of jumps, passes, knockout shots, and hidden stage gimmicks in a quest for achieving worldwide dominance in dodgeball. These titles are evidence of Nintendo’s continued commitment to enhancing the gaming experience on its platforms.
