EA has unveiled that the popular game, The Sims Mobile, will come to a close unexpectedly at the beginning of next year. These plans were disclosed to the gaming community over the past weekend. Although the company stipulates the continuance of updates until January, removal of this game from the App Store and Google Play Store commences on the 21st of October. The formal termination ensues on the 20th of January, offering no more access to players.nnIn spite of the impending closure, EA assures an array of seasonal content for the game’s final run. This includes the Eerie Autumn Festival and the Cozy Home Sweet Treat Showdown, both of which are currently in operation. Furthermore, EA has verified that all unspent premium currency will vanish upon the shutting down of the game’s servers come January, with no possibilities for refunds. All in-app purchases made prior to October 20 will remain functional till January 20, 2026, as stipulated in a blog post that revealed this news. However, post the aforementioned date, The Sims Mobile will cease to function, and any residual currencies will no longer be refundable.nnAs a final gesture, EA plans a treat for its gaming audience around New Year. On the 6th of January, all items in Build Mode and Create-A-Sim (CAS) will be automatically unlocked for players to tinker with until the game is finally taken off-line on the 20th of January. This move is projected to offer players the chance to fulfill their aspirations of constructing their dream homes, customizing their ideal Sims, and experiencing all The Sims Mobile has to offer before termination.nnThe Sims Mobile debuted in March 2018 and is distinct from The Sims FreePlay. It is more streamlined towards customizing and managing a single Sim family, unlike The Sims FreePlay, where players manage multiple households. There have been no announcements from EA regarding any plans of taking The Sims FreePlay off-line. Therefore, avid gamers can rest assured that their love for mobile Sims games will continue with The Sims FreePlay, even in the absence of The Sims Mobile.
