Gaming genres are ever-evolving, and one sub-genre that has recently gained particular attention is the endless hordes and power-ups games inspired by the much-celebrated Vampire Survivors. Continuing the trend is Warhammer Survivors, an exciting addition to this genre. Set in the iconic and expansive universes of Warhammer 40K and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, this latest co-production from Auroch Digital and Poncle – the brains behind Vampire Survivors, promises an intense and thrilling gaming experience. The game, scheduled for a 2026 launch for PC via Steam, is based on the same engine as the critically acclaimed roguelite survivors game that inspired its inception.

In classic survivor genre style, Warhammer Survivors will test gamers’ skills and strategies with relentless waves of enemies. Empowerment of characters and evolution of weapons serve as key aspects of the gameplay. Depending on player preference, one can immerse themselves into the sci-fi world of Warhammer 40K or delve deep into the fantasy-filled environment of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The game roster offers a rich mix of characters to choose from, including but not limited to, Malum Caedo and Neave Blacktalon.

As for the arsenal, Auroch Digital has dispatched some fan favourites. Gamers can expect weapons like the Astartes chainsword, whirlwind axes, and the notorious Bolter gun. Firing these weapons, when enhanced with power-ups, results in a powerful cleansing of the screen from any lurking heretics.

The upcoming game is only one out of several Warhammer 40K themed games currently in development. The rabid fanbase of this franchise can also anticipate the release of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 4 on PC in the upcoming year. Moreover, demos of the Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 being officially exhibited in May. A third instalment titled Space Marine 3 is also diligently under development. In addition to this, fans can expect a new CRPG from Rogue Trader Studio Owlcat Games, titled Dark Heresy.
