In a revolutionary step, BF Studios, the developer behind Battlefield 6, has made a ‘major’ update to the Challenges and Assignments in the game, with adjustments noted as being ‘substantial’. The changes, detailed in patch notes, come on the heels of recent updates that boosted XP gains in official matches and reduced XP requirements for the first 20 attachment ranks.

The developer justified these alterations by explaining that they significantly slim down challenge requirements. Not only do these changes lessen the time investment for players, they also continue to emphasize skill-driven progression that rewards regular play. Challenges and Assignments have been modified to sync with defined playtime targets, increasing their accessibility within a reasonable gaming session length.

BF Studios went on to mention that the range of Assignments will continue to vary, maintaining a balance between routine tasks and those that provide rewards for true mastery, especially ones linked to cosmetic items. Part of the original criteria did not align well with this objective, therefore updates have been made for clarity in terms of difficulty and purpose.

The initial changes, rolled out on November 5, are live immediately following a server-side update. All advances made by players will be applied automatically as they enter a match, unlocking any challenges or assignments that align with the revised criteria.

BF Studios has also hinted at bigger plans for Challenges and Assignments that will unfold over several server-side and client-side updates, indicating that Battlefield 6 players can look forward to more enhancements.

Even though Battlefield 6 had an exceptional launch, there has been some criticism surrounding in-game progression pace. This update is an attempt to address that issue. Other popular discussions involve the comparison of Battlefield 6’s multiplayer maps size with previous games, and disjointed soldier skins.

The gaming community is also abuzz with discussions about the secret firing range room in Battlefield 6, with players seeking for hidden Easter Eggs and hints about upcoming content. Moreover, there is increased interest in guides that offer multiplayer tips and tricks for Battlefield 6.

In the patch notes for Challenge & Assignment Changes, it was mentioned that a total of around 90 adjustments have been made to Challenges and Assignments. Changes to class challenges and weapon assignments in particular have substantially simplified the game. Mode & Unit Assignments have also been standardized to require two wins per tier. Furthermore, the updated general ‘Expert’ and ‘Master’ assignments align better with the gameplay rhythm. This approach minimizes the need for rare achievements, allowing the average round performance to guide player progression.
