Square Enix, known for its creative contributions in the gaming universe, recently shared news that would bring joy to gaming enthusiasts frequently up in the air. Turning transit lounges into entertaining zones, the gaming giant disclosed that travelers of two prominent US airports would have the novel opportunity to experience Octopath Traveler 0’s demo.

This unique demo relay is currently live at the Gameway: Video Game Lounges housed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in Los Angeles, CA, and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City, NY. This latest JRPG, straight from the Square Enix stables, will be accessible for trial until December 9, 2025.

As it stands, there are four spots in total where travelers can sample the Octopath Traveler 0 demo void of the need for a native console such as a Switch or Switch 2, or a handheld like the Steam Deck. At JFK, these lounges are ideally positioned near Terminal 5’s Gate 7 and Terminal 8’s Gate 8. Those at LAX can head over to Terminal 3 hosting a lounge near Gate 30B, or check out Terminal 6 which features a lounge not too far from Gate 65B.

The demo version available at these transit hubs mirrors the one accessible on digital storefronts. This implies that those owning a Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, or a PC, can enjoy the same gaming experience in the comfort of their homes or offices. Moreover, it could be advantageous to game on one’s gadgets, considering the save files can be transferred. However, it is crucial to note that each demo gaming session lasts only three hours, so make sure your schedule is flexible enough to enjoy as much of the demo as possible.

Octopath Traveler 0 is expected to be launched across multiple platforms, including Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 4, 2025. Meanwhile, the countdown continues for travelers lucky enough to enjoy this demo version at any Gameway: Video Game Lounge at LAX and JFK.
