Japan’s leading game developer, Nippon Ichi Software, has made an exciting announcement. The much-anticipated game, Curse Warrior, will become available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on March 26, 2026. This fascinating development comes almost a year after the game was first teased during a Nippon Ichi event in 2025. Initially, it carried the codename Curse, and it was expected to be released within the same year. However, fans will graciously wait an additional year.nThe RPG-style game engages players in embarking on an adventurous journey in a dungeon setting. Here, players gather a team of adventurers who navigate the course through turn-based command type battles. To earn rewards and experience, the adventurer party needs to complete quests available at the dungeon’s entrance. However, the entire party must survive the ordeal rather than being obliterated by game challenges.nThe gameplay of Curse Warrior is thrilling; the introduction of Curses significantly changes the game’s dynamics. As players explore the dungeons, they might trip certain traps or sustain damage from adversary attacks, which in turn increases a character’s Curse Gauge. Here’s the twist, a Cursed character can experience both adverse effects and positive buffs. Adversities caused by Curses can later be removed at the city’s Rainbow Eyes facility.nThe process of lifting a curse creates points for the player, which can be used to upgrade city facilities. However, the Cursed character must then spend some time in isolation in the purification process, requiring the player to have reserve party members.nCurses sharing similar attributes can amalgamate into a potent Curse. Simultaneously, players need to monitor their characters’ Curse Gauge meticulously as a gauge reaching 300% results in the character’s immediate demise due to an overpowering curse.nWith the current reveal, the game has eight identified character roles divided into four archetypes, with two types each. The nuances of these characters are distinguished by different feature colors.nFeaturing emblematic roles such as Cleric / Paladin, Barbarian / Fighter, Ranger / Archer, and Sorcerer / Wizard, each with their unique abilities and qualities, the game offers diverse gameplay options. Despite these unique dynamics, the game is yet to receive an English localization confirmation from NIS America.nThis intriguing game will undeniably have players at the edge of their seats eagerly awaiting its release!
