The much anticipated Fighting Force Collection is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on January 23rd. The definitive launch date was revealed by the publisher, Limited Run Games, in partnership with the developer, Implicit Conversions.
The Fighting Force Collection consists of re-released versions of two PlayStation classics, namely, Fighting Force and its sequel, Fighting Force 2.
The original Fighting Force is a beat ’em up masterpiece first launched in 1997. Players get the opportunity to step into the shoes of characters like Hawk Manson, Mace Daniels, Alana McKendricks, or Ben ‘Smasher’ Johnson, each with their unique specialized skills and strengths. Your mission: to put an end to the malevolent plans of the infamous Dr. Dex Zeng. Players can choose from two male or two female characters, each offering a different gameplay experience. The game can be played in solo mode or alongside a partner in co-op mode. Each character comes with a plethora of unique moves, and throughout the course of the game, players will combat through seven varied and action-packed levels, spread across 22 ascending stages. Additionally, an array of weapons such as rocket launchers, shotguns, pipes, guns, and grenades adds an extra element of strategic depth and excitement.
The sequel, Fighting Force 2, was initially released in 1999. After the events of the first game, Hawk Manson returns and is tasked with covertly investigating human cloning experiments run by the Knackmiche Corporation. Players have to maneuver their way through intricately designed R&D facilities equipped with dazzling visuals and advanced special effects. On top of visceral hand-to-hand combat system and deadly combo moves, Hawk can use over 20 different lethal weapons, both for eliminating important enemies and for the obliteration of certain environmental elements.
