This update eliminates numerous issues gamers have encountered, improving the overall gaming experience for users on all platforms. The improvements include fixes for the Chapter 4 boss battle, DLSS fixes on PC, and BGM issue solutions for consoles. An essential component for future updates is also set to address an existing problem that hinders certain count-based trophies from working correctly on the PlayStation 5 version.nNews about these improvements followed the game’s release today on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC Steam. The following improvements have been implemented in the update:nnFor all platforms, the game no longer becomes unplayable if a player dies during the Chapter 4 boss battle, and their most recent Save Data was in ‘Subspace.’ The character would previously fall indefinitely, causing the game to halt. If players have saved the game during this event, letting Romeo fall one more time will reinstate the game back to normality.nnThe PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XIS versions also have amended sound issues that occurred during the first playthrough. Issues included some BGM not playing, and muffled sound.nnIn the Steam version, an issue causing a significant drop in the rendering frame rate under specific circumstances with DLSS enabled has been fixed. Alongside this, an issue preventing language settings from being applied correctly, under certain conditions, has also been corrected. Further enhancements include the removal of the ‘Upsampling Quality’ option from the Graphics Settings menu. Other changes to the Graphics Settings menu include the positioning of the ‘Graphics Quality’ option, moving it below the ‘Upsampling Method’ option. The quality settings for FSR3, DLSS, and XeSS are now linked to one central ‘Graphics Quality’ setting.nnLooking into the future, developers are focused on rectifying an issue preventing count-based trophies from progressing properly on the PlayStation 5 version. – Fixed a bug where, upon dying during the Chapter 4 boss battle, if the most recent Save Data was in
“Subspace”, the character would fall infinitely, causing the game to become unplayable.*If you have already saved while this issue was occurring, allowing Romeo to fall to his death once will restore the game to its normal state.
PlayStation5 / Xbox Series XIS Versions
– Fixed the sound issues occurring during the first playthrough (some BGM not playing, muffled sound).
Steam Version
- Fixed an issue causing the rendering frame rate to drop significantly under specific conditions with
DLSS enabled.- Fixed an issue preventing language settings from being applied correctly under specific conditions.
- Removed the “Upsampling Quality” option from the Graphics Settings menu.
- The “Graphics Quality” option in the Graphics Settings menu has been moved to just below the “Upsampling Method” option.
- FSR3, DLSS, and XeSS quality are now affected by the “Graphics Quality” setting.
- The quality settings for FSR3, DLSS, and XeSS previously offered three levels: Performance, Balance, and Quality. However, since linking them to the “Graphics Quality” setting, they now cover five levels:
Low, Medium, High, Very High, and Ultra High.*When set to Ultra High, the internal resolution of each upsampler becomes equivalent to 100%, functioning as an anti-aliasing feature.
Future Updates for Romeo is a Dead Man
We are currently working on a fix for issue preventing certain count-based trophies from progressing properly on the PlayStation 5 version.
