Latest Trailer and Details for Curse Warrior Released

Renowned developer Nippon Ichi Software alongside guruguru has unveiled a captivating new trailer and important details about their latest dungeon-crawling project, Curse Warrior. Providing profound insights into character loss and curses, this two-minute trailer also features a demo of the game, made available exclusively for Japanese players. The eagerly anticipated game demo can run on Sony’s PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo’s Switch console, giving players a taste of the action at their fingertips. As of now, there is no information regarding a western release for the game.

The plot of Curse Warrior revolves around the city of Echoes where players embark on exhilarating adventures tackling various jobs and demands. As the storyline unfolds, players are tasked with investigating the eerie Eclipse dungeon, located near Echoes. This abode of monsters keeps the inhabitants of Echoes on their toes, living in fear due to the persistent monster invasions. The gaming experience begins with players undertaking quests for other dungeons till Eclipse becomes accessible. To populate their party, players can select and strengthen members from eight diverse classes. These classes have unique advantages and shortcomings when positioned on either the front or back lines of the party.

The tension ramps up as any character beaten by the enemy is irreversibly lost and cannot be brought back through resurrection or revival. Curse Warrior distinctly focuses on various curses that can plague the party, inflicted through enemy assaults or dungeon traps. Interestingly, these curses could limit actions and abilities, degrade character performance, or even bestow favorable outcomes like bonus damage output or HP recovery. Players have to intelligently harness these curses to survive the hostile environment. Besides curses, the survival phase also relies on the items that players can carry or discover during their quests.

Within Echoes, there exists an establishment named Rainbow Eyes. This allows players to remove specific curse effects. While a character is undergoing curse removal, they are temporarily barred from participating in party quests. Shedding these curses earns players ‘Purification Points,’ handy for upgrading urban facilities to bolster the party’s strength further. In a unique and challenging twist, curses can merge to form potent curses inflicting higher effects and activation rates. Characters can be afflicted by a maximum of six curses at once, each with unique dual effects. The Curse Gauge fills up with every attack endured by a character, and a full gauge at 100% results in a curse affliction. Danger escalates as a character dies if their Curse Gauge surpasses 300%.
