Super Evil Megacorp has rolled out a substantial new wave of content for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, giving both returning players and newcomers more reasons to jump back into its fast-paced co-op action. The latest release includes a free update called The King’s Gambit alongside a paid downloadable content pack centered on Slash, expanding both the game’s endgame challenge and its playable roster.
The headline addition in the free update is the Rat King, who now serves as a major endgame boss encounter. This new fight is designed to act as a climactic final test for players who have already spent significant time mastering the game’s systems. Reaching the Rat King is not as simple as selecting a mission from a menu. Players must first defeat Shredder multiple times and successfully rescue Master Splinter before the final showdown becomes available. That structure makes the battle feel like a true culmination of the adventure rather than just another enemy encounter added onto the side.
Once players finally reach the Rat King, they can expect a difficult and chaotic fight. Before even facing him directly, they will need to battle through his minions, creating a gauntlet-like lead-in that raises the tension. The Rat King is also capable of summoning past bosses to assist him, which means the encounter can pull from earlier threats and remix them into a more demanding final challenge.
