Absolum Reaches Mobile This November

Absolum is set to arrive on iOS and Android on November 5, bringing its fast-paced side-scrolling action to mobile players. The beat ’em up blends arcade-style combat with roguelite progression, giving players a fantasy adventure built around repeat runs, character growth, and increasingly refined strategies. Following its earlier release on consoles and PC, the game is now being adapted for phones and tablets with features designed specifically for mobile play.

Published by Playdigious in partnership with Dotemu, and developed by Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, Absolum has already established itself as a stylish action game with a strong identity. Its mix of classic brawler mechanics and modern roguelite structure gives it a distinctive feel, combining immediate combat satisfaction with long-term progression. On mobile, that same core experience is being preserved while also receiving interface and control adjustments meant to make the game more comfortable on touchscreens.

The story takes place in the fantasy world of Talamh, a land deeply scarred by a magical disaster. In the aftermath of that cataclysm, ordinary people grew fearful of magic, and Sun King Azra used that fear to tighten his grip on power. Through his Crimson Order, he enslaved wizards and expanded his rule across the land. Against this oppressive regime, a resistance begins to form. Guided by the high enchantress Uchawi, a small band of rebels embraces forbidden magic in an effort to challenge Azra and reclaim freedom for Talamh.

That setup gives Absolum more than just a backdrop for combat. The game frames its action around rebellion, resistance, and the struggle to restore balance in a world where magic has become both feared and controlled. As players move through each run, they are not simply clearing stages and defeating enemies. They are pushing back against a tyrant’s rule, one battle at a time, while uncovering more of the world and strengthening their heroes for future attempts.

Players will be able to fight as four different heroes, each bringing a unique approach to combat. Two of them, Galandra and Karl, are available from the start. Galandra is described as calm but deadly, suggesting a precise and efficient fighting style, while Karl stands out as the last free dwarf of Talamh. As players continue their journey, they will also discover Brome and Cider, expanding the roster with additional abilities and combat options. This variety should help keep runs fresh, especially for players who enjoy experimenting with different playstyles and team compositions.

Combat is one of the game’s biggest draws. Absolum is built around the feel of a classic beat ’em up, with impactful attacks, chained combos, and crowd control playing major roles in every encounter. At the same time, roguelite mechanics add replay value by allowing players to develop new strategies and become stronger over multiple runs. Rather than simply repeating the same content, players are encouraged to adapt, improve, and find better ways to overcome Azra’s forces. That loop of action, failure, growth, and return is central to the game’s appeal.

The world itself also seems to be a major highlight. Talamh features a range of environments, from the mines of Grandery to the forests of Jaroba, giving the adventure a broad fantasy scope. The visual presentation leans heavily on detailed art and expressive animation, helping each area feel alive and distinct. The soundtrack is another notable element, composed by Gareth Coker, whose previous work has earned praise across several major games. His involvement suggests that the musical side of Absolum will be a meaningful part of the experience rather than just background accompaniment.

For players who prefer to fight alongside someone else, the game also includes two-player online co-op. This mode allows a pair of players to combine elemental powers and coordinate attacks for bigger combo opportunities. Co-op can make a beat ’em up especially enjoyable, and in a roguelite structure it may also lead to creative teamwork and more dynamic runs. Whether playing solo or with a partner, the focus remains on mastering each hero’s strengths and making the most of every attempt.

The mobile version has been carefully redesigned to suit the platform. It features a revamped user interface built specifically for phones, along with full touch controls. For players who prefer a more traditional setup, controller support is also included. Achievements will be available through Game Center on iOS and Google Play Games on Android, adding extra goals for completionists.

Android players will also benefit from cross-progression with PC through the same Google Play Games account, making it possible to continue progress across platforms. In addition, cloud saving support will let players share progress between iOS and Android devices. These quality-of-life features are especially important for a game built around repeated runs, since they make it easier to keep playing wherever and however it is most convenient.

With its combination of polished brawler action, roguelite replayability, striking fantasy worldbuilding, and mobile-focused enhancements, Absolum looks positioned to make a strong impression when it launches on phones and tablets this November. For players who enjoy side-scrolling combat games with depth, style, and cooperative options, this mobile release could be one to watch.
