This week’s Wii shop update brings Sega’s Sonic Chaos (Sega Master System, 1 player, 500 Wii Points), Nintendo’s LONPOS (1-4 players, 800 Wii Points, basically a static Tetris where you try to fill in a rectangular field with various shaped pieces) and Snowboard Riot (Hudson Entertainment, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points, snowboarding that supports the…

  • Ludlum Partners With EA

Ludlum Entertainment has given EA worldwide license to create games based on the works of Robert Ludlum. Basically, all your favorite Bourne books/movies will be released by EA for at least the next few years. Also, the first game is already being developed by Starbreeze Studios, who also developed the Chronicles of Riddick game.

  • Weekly Releases – 02/02/09

It’s a pretty slow week. Besides Burnout Paradise (PC, EA) and My World My Way (DS, Atlus) there doesn’t seem to be anything else happening. It’s a good thing, because I a) don’t have any money and b) don’t want to buy anything before I (finally, maybe) beat Tales of Vesperia. And then there’s Persona…

  • Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Soundtrack

I know this is old news since the game has been out for over two months now, but I just recently played Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD for the first time, and really liked the tracks for some of the stages. I don’t know why I waited so long to try it, I used…

  • The House of the Dead: Overkill Preorder

If you’re thinking of picking up the upcoming (February 10) Wii shooter The House of the Dead: Overkill you might consider pre-ordering the game to get a free graphic novel Prelude To An Overkill, which looks kind of cool.

  • Korg DS-10 Coming to Gamestop

If you haven’t been able to pick up Korg DS-10 yet (since Gamestop previously decided not to stock it for some reason), it looks like Gamestop has changed their collective minds and will be selling the game starting February 9. They’ll be selling it at $30, which is a pretty good deal. [ via Gamestop…

  • Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? Comic, Contest

NIS America is running a contest for their upcoming PSP game, Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?. The “Prinny ____, dood Bottle Contest” involves filling in the chat bubbles of a comic with hilarious/creative/etc. text. If you win, you could end up with a rad Prinny water bottle.

  • Nintendo’s 2009 Lineup

There’s Fire Emblem, Punch-Out!!, Mario and Luigi RPG 3, and Sin and Punishment 2. I guess it could be worse, really.

  • X-Blades

Thrasher, is this the ninja girl game you were talking about? Apparently there are some box art differences, mostly thong vs. not thong.

  • Need for Speed Franchise Races Into New Genres

Apparently Need for Speed is going where it’s never gone before: action RPG. Wait, wait…I read the press release wrong. It’s actual racing into the genre of racing. Which isn’t a new genre for Need for Speed, at all. So, I guess really I’m just kind of confused and feel betrayed by the press release’s…

  • Legacy of Ys: Books I & II Delayed, Bonus Soundtrack

The good news: Atlus recently announced that every copy of their upcoming DS title Legacy of Ys: Books I & II will contain a soundtrack, with both the game and soundtrack packed into a collectible box. The bad: the game is delayed for a couple of weeks, to February 24th. I don’t know anymore, Atlus,…

  • Dark Spire Preview on IGN

IGN has a nice preview up about Atlus’ upcoming DS dungeon crawler, The Dark Spire. I think the game looks pretty interesting, I liked both Etrian Odyssey games and this seems very similar.
