  • Awesome Radical Retrospective: Arkanoid

Arkanoid was originally an arcade game developed by Taito in 1986 and later ported over to the NES. You control the “Vaus”, a space ship that basically acts as a paddle to bounce a ball against multicolor bricks. Some bricks take more than one hit to destroy and the player can grab upgrades along the…

  • Marching Bands Like Video Games

I don’t really even know what to say. Why did they choose to do a video game theme? I mean, a lot of people in the band must really love video games to decide to do this. It’s pretty well done…watching the Tetris blocks move is almost mesmerizing. It’s too bad everything is upside down.…

  • Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker Initial Impressions

I picked up Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS) yesterday and I’ve been able to play the game for a good two or three hours so far. I’ve never played a Dragon Quest Monsters game before, so it’s all new to me, even though I’ve seen all the monsters before in other Dragon Quest games. Anyway,…

The Nintendo World Store will be having a lunch party this Sunday to celebrate the release of Super Mario Galaxy. The party will go from 8 PM – 12 AM, at which point everyone can pick up a copy of the game. Here are all the details:

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl Update – Lucas: Special Moves

Today’s Smash Bros. update featured the move set for Lucas. Lucas move set is pretty similar to Ness. The moves are: PK Fire, PK Freeze, PK Thunder, and PSI Magnet. The post also shows his smash directional attacks. I’m interested to see how Lucas will play. I was never good with Ness, but maybe I…

  • Super Mario Galaxy Mini Boss Fight Video

Super Mario Galaxy is almost here and to hold you over IGN has released some new gameplay videos, such as this mini boss fight. I really like how this fight is designed. You can sort of feel just how much the game is polished watching the multi part battle (and this is only a mini…

  • Wine and Video Games, a Perfect Match

Wine no Hajimekata DS is a Square Enix game about wine. I honestly can’t find out anymore information about the game. Does it tell you what wines go well with what meals? How to identify a good wine compared to a bad wine? I have no idea. Wikipedia has nothing, and IGN simply has this:

  • Nanostray 2 Gameplay Demo

Nanostray 2 is an upcoming scrolling shooter for the DS and is scheduled for release in early 2008. The game will reportedly have 3 different control schemes: classic control, left-hand touch control, and right-hand touch control. Also, the game will feature co-op multiplayer (multi-card) as well as duel-mode.

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl Daily Update: Items

Today’s Brawl update featured some old school items that will be making return appearances in the game. All of the items have been in previous Smash Bros. games, so nothing new is revealed. The update is geared more towards newcomers to the series. Regardless, it’s still interesting to see the items back again.

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl Update: Meta Knight Final Smash

This morning’s Smash Bros. Dojo update displayed Meta Knight’s final smash. He swirls around his cape, does some other crap, everything gets dark, and finally someone gets sliced by his sword. I think I’ve already seen this on video, anyway, so reading about it isn’t exactly exciting.

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl – Classic Mode

Today Classic mode was revealed. You clear a stage and you get coins, so is it like a side scrolling level and you fight to the end, like in Melee? I think that’s all there was to it, really… Anyway, clear the stage and you get coins, and coins are NOT used to buy things…
