Nintendo and Capcom released a ton of new details for their upcoming release Monster Hunter Tri at the Nintendo Summit today. Highlights include free online play, voice support (Wii-Speak), a bundle with classic controller for only $59.99, and a pre-order Monster Hunter Tri Points Card worth 500 Points ($5.00) available through Gamestop. The card can be used towards games in the Wii Shop or Nintendo DSi Shop channels.
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, the third DLC for Borderlands will be out tomorrow for the XBLA (for 800 Microsoft points). It will be available Thursday on PSN and PC ($9.99). The DLC raises the level cap to 61, adds in a whole bunch of new weapons, almost 30 new enemy types, and improved enemy AI. It’s a pretty big update, coming in at almost twice the size of previous DLC, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned.
Fable II: Game Episodes is the full version of Fable II chopped up into five pieces, and the first episode is available today, for free! Once the first episode is completed, players can download additional episodes as they please. If you haven’t checked out Fable II, now is a great time to do it.
Nintendo of America has announced a December 7th release date for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, just in time for the holiday shopping season. I wonder why they would wait so long to announce the date?
I’m a huge fan of Super Metroid, it was one of a handful of SNES games I had as a kid and easily in my top 10 video games of all time. I played it for countless hours and many times over, the exploration aspect was really fun, and finding all the little secrets, the hidden rooms and passages was always a driving factor. Naturally, when I heard that Shadow Complex was admittedly inspired by games like Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night, I was excited. After playing through the game, I can say that Shadow Complex lived up to my expectations in every way.
This new developer’s diary for Mass Effect 2 makes the game look pretty awesome (there are some minor spoilers, so beware). I like how I can just push people out of windows if they don’t answer my questions how I want them to be answered. Which is what I do in real life. What it didn’t really address was the A.I., I really hope my A.I. teammates aren’t completely retarded while in combat, because that was the one thing that really pissed me off while playing the first.
Atlus announced they’ll be brining the DS action RPG Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier to North America. And each one comes packed with more then just giant robot fighting action, you also get the CD soundtrack! The game comes out April 28th with an MSRP of $34.99.
The good news: Atlus recently announced that every copy of their upcoming DS title Legacy of Ys: Books I & II will contain a soundtrack, with both the game and soundtrack packed into a collectible box. The bad: the game is delayed for a couple of weeks, to February 24th. I don’t know anymore, Atlus, all these up’s and down’s…I just don’t know if I can keep doing this.
