Atlus Releasing R-Type Tactics in the U.S.?

Normally, whenever I think of an R-Type game I think side-scrolling shooter with tons of slow down because a million things are happening on the screen at the same time. R-Type Tactics, however, is a turn-based strategy game and rumor has it Atlus is going to publish it stateside under the name R-Type Command. Furthermore, the game is scheduled to be released March 4, 2008 for $39.99.

I can’t think of anything that would be much cooler. I like R-Type games and I like turn-based strategy games. Combining the two is brilliant! The game play is structured like a typical turn-based game with a hexagonal grid, but it also keeps many of the traits of the R-Type series. You won’t be controlling just one ship, either.
