Ubisoft! Ubisoft! Ubisoft!

Ubisoft released its First Quarter Reports (2008-09) today. Sales for the company are up 25.8%. Titles launched in 2007-08, such as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Assassin’s Creed and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, are mainly what brought about these numbers. While this may seem like boring news to non-business people, the company did mention some titles that will be released during the second quarter of 2008-09. The second fiscal quarter will see the following main releases: Brothers in Arms Hell’s Highway and Soul Calibur IV (with Darth Vader and Yoda). I am sure everyone knew this already anyway.

Avid gamers can also look forward to the Ubisoft DS title “My SAT Coach”. I personally wish there was a gameboy game when I was younger that mixed the fun of gaming with the intelligence and vest of the SAT’s.

In other Ubisoft news the company opened up two new, randomly placed, studios. One in Kiev, no clue where that is, and Sao Paolo. Fascinating.

Upon my initial reading of this post, I was thinking “Woah, Mike has totally changed his writing style!” But then I realized…Thrasher strikes again.

That’s not a bad thing though-I can always enjoy SAT related news. Plus, it’s funny.
Now the quieston is how much of the Lost Experience is relevant to the TV series? The Hanso Foundation, the Widmore Corporation (which also plays a central role in Evil Twin by Gary Troup [purgatory]), Rachel Blake, Dr Mittelwerk [also in “Evil Twin”] and his human experimentation with a deadly virus, and even the Apollo chocolate bar, which has appeared in the series, could play a role in the series arc.I was thinking that the evil twin for the series might be the identical twin, a clone, either occurring naturally at birth or produced in a lab, of Christian Shepard or Jack Shepard, and this person could be Jacob. We still don’t know what type of experiments Dharma was up to, or what virus required the vaccine they developed. Were their scientists evil, and did Benry lead a faction against them in revolt? This could be a extensive backstory that the producers are hoping will carry this series ahead for a couple more seasons. And still nobody knows about those 4-toed folks.
Bizzy, I am also interested to find out how much of what we learned from TLE was/is going to show up during the series, and I am starting to presume that it was put together as a non-requisite aside from the series itself.Further, it does not seem that there are any plans to carry it beyond what is there now, at least as far as the time between Season 3 and 4 is concerned, which would lead me to believe that is was not quite as successful as was originally hoped for, or that the consistent interference by the more hard core fans has given pause to the creators
