I’ve always been curious what exactly goes on during a Dragon Quest launch in Japan. The game is kind of a big deal there. So big, in fact, that they only release them on Saturdays (instead of their normal Thursday launches), supposedly because everyone would skip school/work/etc. to play the game (I’m not sure if that’s the real reason).
Well, now I know, as Kotaku has an excellent write up cover many of the events.
I also learned that Thrasher would like 7-Eleven’s in Japan much more then in the U.S. because they a) don’t sell Slurpees and b) allow you to reserve video games there. Don’t ever, ever buy Thrasher a Slurpee.
